The food here is amazing. We always order to-go and we are never disappointed. Their steak nachos are wonderful and a very generous portion. Their burritos are fantastic and very large. My personal favorite is a chile rellanos burrito with steak. Their rice is also the best rice I've had and their garlic is soft and so yummy. Another plus is that they're open 24 hours.

Service was fast and fresh! Loved the steak tacos! The prices here are amazing! I cant wait to try them for breakfast! Home of the giant burrito, big enough for two meals. The green salsa is so yummy. Had rice water for the first and now I'm in love. One of the employees saw I was struggling to dumb out our garbage so he came over and took everything for me. He went out of his way! I'll definitely be back since the prices are so awesome!

I've been coming here for years! The owner is the sweetest man on Earth and he always treated my family and me like royalty. The food is above excellent and what else do you need?:)) Thank you for being such an amazing place!

Best classic football sized burritos in Chicago. Very clean and covid ready. They put up a plastic wall and also have a window outside to order if you aren't wearing a mask. They are very strict about how many people inside at one time. I was impressed with what they had done for our safety. Yummy food all the time!

This place is talked up a lot at my work. So I went in with high expectations. I think it tastes like authentic Mexican food. After living 25 years in Southern California, I'm looking for places just like this in Chicago. I wouldn't talk it up like it's the best I've ever had. It is, however, great Mexican food.

What a place for a burrito! Fresh made to order and a giant menu to choose from. The streak is tender and full of flavors, the only down side is their chips, not the greatest but oh well. Clean, professional establishment. Always stop when I’m close.

My mom grew up eating here and she brings me here occasionally. It's also so quick when we're here and we never wait long. I enjoy going here a lot

Food was good. The woman was too busy to make my drink so the cashier had to make it and asked me if I got my drink like I was lying to him. My two friends didn't get their drinks at all. The younger looking guy looked pist off and treated everyone like they were bothering him. Terrible experience, used to be wonderful.

The best steak burrito!! My husband has talked about this place before, so we finally were in the area and decided to stop. I was not disappointed. The quality and taste are out of this world. I got mine as a meal, and the rice and beans were also delicious. Everything was fresh and made to order. Great prices and even better food. Kudos to a job well done!! Hands down the best Mexican restaurant. They have great good, they are quick, and very nice.. you need to come here at least 10 times in your life. This place is open 24hrs and never messes up any orders. They speak Spanish and English so don't worry. Awesome place to get something quick and go home to the sick gf to feed her some yummy tacos.. 😁Edit: I forgot to say they also take card so no worries

Best tacos & burritos around. Every time somebody from overseas comes to visit I make sure to take them to this joint. The interior is not the best but the fresh food they serve is definitely worth every moment spent. Food is made fast because they have a huge mountain of steak already cooked. My go to Mexican food restaurant!

Food was good...took 45mins though.

My friends had been going for years and after driving by unexpectedly, I stopped in. I was a good burrito, very reasonable price, and the best part for me was the hot carrots they give on the side. Love those with my Mexican food! I could have split that burrito, and still been full. Fast and nice staff.

Smells really good right when you get inside. Line can be pretty long however, that just shows how good food is here. Good place for a late night bite to eat

This is one of these places that I have been going to since I was a kid. I am 52 years old. So that tells you how long this place has been around. Great place for anytime to eat.

They are open so late, it's amazing to go here after our night shift. The people there are always so nice and the food is always great. The food is reasonably priced and they have great options. Love taking people here.

Been eating here forever. Burritos are always amazing. Warning if you choose the combo burrito, the amount of grease in it is likely to stain your arm if the bottom springs a leak 😁

Very fast service! The burritos are delicious and the fact that it’s 24 hours is hands down great. We always get the steak burrito and my husband gets “extra meat” try it next time it’s worth it.

The food at El faro is good but don't expect your order to be right and don't expect them to answer the phone when you call. I paid for 2 meals and only got one which was still wrong I also bought 8 tacos each of which had the wrong toppings and tortilla.

OMG!!!! Total mouth party. Steak Burrito Suizo was bursting full off flavor. Very fast service. Reasonably priced. Ample menu options. Crowd pleaser and we see why. Will definitely return with my family.

I’ve been eating el faro for the last 10 years and they have the best burrito on the planet. I walked in today to order my regular order and found them cooking ham on the grill. I asked the guy behind the counter if they normally cooked pork next to the beef and he explained to me that they typically don’t and when they do they clean it. He asked if I was Muslim and after I said I was he asked the guy behind the grill to give it a very thorough cleaning before starting my order. He then explained to me that they don’t use lard in their beans either. Will be back!

This is the best place for tacos in town! They are open 24/7 so it doesn't matter when your hungry they are always willing to serve. The food is great and the staff is always nice and fast. I never have to spend long waiting for my order no matter how big. Parking is tough though they have space on either side of the street and 2 in the back but if you are lucky enough to get a spot next to the place keep it.

This is an iconic local Mexican restaurant specializing in steak burritos. The burritos are huge and very inexpensive. A great value. Serves other Mexican specialties, as well. It's nothing fancy , probably best for carry out , but has plenty of tables too. Overall , the best burritos in the Chicago land metro and suburban area.

Pricy for dive Mexican restaurant. Food is almost worth the wait if there is no line. The place is crowded but food is good and done right. More Parking is needed. Service is nice and quick. Food came out hot.I have other places I can think of to go for good Mexican food so I don’t plan on returning. Try for yourself and be the judge.

Food is seasoned well BUT BUT guy who took our order seemed to hate his life. It transferred to his service. Horrible. Got order wrong and ignored my request for coffee repeatedly. Didn't feel like arguing so I got a coffee from dunkin donuts. If the service was great then a would have given it a 5 stars 🤷‍♀️

Very fast, accurate and friendly service. Thanks to their basic menu items, they have mastered their craft well. Very well portioned and very inexpensive. I also really dig that they are open 24 hours. Perfect if you work odd hours. This is my new favorite joint.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants to go to. When you walk in and see the gigantic mound of steak cooking on the griddle, you know it's going to be good.The pricing here is comparable to most places you go to, and they have the typical things you would expect from similar restaurants as well.Friendly and quick service from order to payment. Everything is made right in front of you, so there is no mystery about preparation.Steak is the best meat to get for your tacos, burritos, tortas, etc. Seasoned very well while still juicy. Their other meats are quite good as well.I try to come here whenever I am in the area, always worth the trip.

Getting worse cooks! Steak meat is burnt, who knows how long it sits on cook top? Instead of getting rid of it they mix with new cooked meat???

I didnt take pictures because there is no time for that when the food is this good. Remind me of my tia cooking for me. Seriously some of the best Mexican food right outside of Chicago. A must try if u are in town. Don't expect much as far as the decor and the booths are hard as rocks lol but the food will make up for that and dont forget an horchata to go alone with it, just wish they hard a large size!
